Garde Rail Gallery marks its 27th anniversary with a retrospective exhibition, “The Folk Life”, honoring the artists it has represented over the years. The show will open at Shiny Object Studio on May 16th, followed by a curator’s talk at 4 PM on May 17th, 2025. Garde Rail Gallery specialises in contemporary, self-taught,
and outsider artists.

After 11 years in Seattle, WA, the gallery relocated to Austin, TX, in 2009. It regularly participates in art fairs, including Art Basel in Miami and the Outsider Art Fair in New York.

In addition to participating in art fairs, Garde Rail Gallery helps curate museum exhibitions for its artists. Notably, Garde Rail Gallery artists such as Gregory Blackstock and John Taylor are featured in major private and public collections, including Microsoft, Safeco, and the Seattle Art Museum.
